Yanic Gentry is a civil engineer and naval architect. He started sailing from an early age in the Optimist and Windsurf class and became a specialist in the Laser Olympic Class, in which he gained most of his sailing experience. He is a multiple National Laser Champion and Mexico’s representative in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. He was a finalist in the Pan American Games 2019 and won a silver medal in the Central American and Caribbean Games 2018. Most recently he participated in the CG32 Extreme Sailing Series with Team Extreme Mexico and has been adding big boat sailing experience as the tactician in the Melges 32 World Series with team HEAT
